Eligibility Criteria

QualificationPrescribed qualification must be from recognized Board/University/Institute as regular full-time course with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC and PwBD candidates for reserved seats). For ITI, pass marks required. CGPA/OGPA/Letter Grade must be converted to percentage as per Board/University norms.
Work ExperienceEngineering graduates, diploma holders, or vocational certificate holders with 1 year or more job experience after qualification are not eligible.
Previous ApprenticeshipCandidates who completed apprenticeship in a different trade/discipline are eligible if minimum 1 year gap exists as on 31-07-2026. No gap required if previous contract terminated by employer. 3-month gap required if terminated by candidate due to health, financial hardship, relocation, transportation, career change, or language barrier. No waiting period for women.
Higher QualificationsCandidates with B.E./B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA or equivalent, or pursuing such qualifications, are not eligible.
Qualification AgeCandidates who completed 5 years after acquiring prescribed qualification as on 31-07-2026 are not eligible.
Multiple ApplicationsCandidates with B.Sc. (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry) can apply for only one trade (Code 101 or 108). B.Com candidates can apply for one trade (Code 108 or 109). Applying for more than one trade results in rejection.
Secretarial Assistant LocationCode 108 applicants must specify preferred location (Panipat or New Delhi). Applications for both locations will be rejected.
Fresher Definition (Code 110)Non-graduate apprentice who has not undergone any institutional or skill training before on-the-job training.
Skill Certificate (Code 111)Certificate must be for training less than 1 year in Domestic Data Entry Operator, issued by awarding body recognized under National Skill Qualifications Framework or Central Government authority.
Lateral Entry DiplomaDiploma holders admitted in 2nd year under lateral entry scheme (Class XII Sc./ITI) are eligible if prescribed percentage met on aggregate of all semesters.
Part-time/Distance EducationNot eligible.
PwBD EligibilityBenchmark disability of 40% or above as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016. Disability Certificate from competent authority required. PwBD candidates can apply only against identified seats under Codes 102, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111.

Selection Process

No Written TestSelection based on merit in prescribed qualification only.
Merit RankingPercentage of marks in descending order (aggregate of all subjects/semesters). Preference given to first-time apprenticeship applicants.
Tie-BreakingIn case of equal marks: (1) Date of birth (senior by age), (2) Higher percentage in Matriculation.
PwBD ConsiderationCandidates with relaxation in qualification marks considered against reserved seats in order of merit within category.
Document VerificationShortlisted candidates called for document verification based on merit and seat availability. No guarantee of engagement if seats remain unfilled due to unsuitability.

How to Apply

  1. Register on NAPS/NATS Portal: For Codes 101, 102, 108, 109, 110, 111, register on NAPS at https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/. For Codes 104, 105, 106, 107, register on NATS at https://nats.education.gov.in/.
  2. Select Opportunity: Search for IOCL Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex and select your trade. Follow portal steps to complete registration.
  3. Establishment IDs: Use NATS ID NHRPPC000003 or NAPS ID E10150600035 when applying.
  4. Login and Apply: Login with your User ID/Email and apply for apprenticeship openings at Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex.
  5. Submit Microsoft Forms: After portal application, visit www.iocl.com and submit additional details via Microsoft Forms link. Both Step I (portal) and Step II (forms) are mandatory.
  6. Verify Details: Ensure profile details, educational qualifications, category, and aggregate percentage are correct in both portal and Microsoft Forms before final submission.
  7. One Response Only: Submit only one response in Microsoft Forms. Use same email ID and mobile number in both steps, valid for entire apprenticeship period.
  8. Application Confirmation: Ensure successful application in respective NAPS/NATS portal. Incomplete applications or those not meeting eligibility are rejected.

Original Documents Required10th Pass/Matriculation certificate (proof of DOB), Class XII marksheet, Class XII/Final ITI/Graduation/Diploma certificate, CGPA/OGPA/Letter Grade conversion certificate (if applicable), result publication date certificate from Principal, SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD certificate in prescribed format, Skill Certificate (Code 111 only), NATS/NAPS portal registration printout, Affidavit confirming eligibility compliance (Annexure-I), Photo ID proof in original (Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport).
Self-Attested CopiesOne self-attested photocopy of each original document must be carried.
